In Loving Memory of Willie Hose
August 5th 1949 - December 6th 2004

Important Announcement regarding Willie Hose, former drummer with The
Embraceables, Black Cloud Express, Ron Cooley & The Hard Times, Men In Blues
(2 yrs), as well as numerous other bands in the 60's, 70's , 80's and 90's
Willie was always one of the best drummers in the Atlanta
area, and he sang quite well too. Not the fanciest, but definitely a pocket type
drummer. He even had a few hits in past years. He was one of the original Auburn
Ave - Royal Peacock crew back in " The Day"... a true "Old
School" player. He was part of the Atlanta Music scene for many, many
years. He knew so many people, and they knew of him. Soft-spoken, always
punctual, he gave his 100% at every gig, and gave to the Atlanta community in
the process. There are a lot of great drummers in Atlanta, and every
single one would probably agree that Willie had the touch, a very unique sound
And did I mention the way he could play? He absolutely understood
dynamics, timing and teamwork. He will be greatly missed.

The Benefit for the family of Willie Hose
that Men In Blues put together was a huge success!
Thanks
to the many volunteers for donating their time, music, love of music, and
equipment.A big thanks to the ABS, Gene Kreeft, Mark Alestra, Rocky Buldo and
Phil Abbate for doing a great job setting up the sound equipment.
A special big thanks to Phil for steadfastly manning the
sound board all night long!
The
music was fantastic. Men in Blues opened the show, and then invited Heaven Davis
up for a great version on "Wang Dang Doodle."
Then, Ricky Andrews and the Too Tough Band
entertained everyone, followed by The Sana Blues Band that performed all
original material in a style all their own.
Chick Willis surprised us all and showed up, threw an instant band
together of seasoned
professionals, and rocked the house with some great music including his famous
" Stoop Down" song.
After that, the Brethren made the place hop with Dennis Saunders as
their lead singer. By this point the dance floor was well broken in.After
the Brethren, Ricky Andrews took the stage and invited a few different excellent
singers to front his band, much to the delight of the audience.
MEN IN BLUES closed out the show, and had some tricks up their
sleeve...Big Royal sang a couple of tunes, and so did Ms Ramona ( what a great
voice). Another
friend of Dino Merriwether also sang a tune, but his name escapes me at the
moment.
Again,
thanks to all the generous people for helping Men In Blues make this night a big
success!
